Georgia Brown Gillett, Daughter of Deceased
“Sir George was truly an extraordinary and unique person. He rose from humble beginnings in Gales Point Manatee to hold the highest judicial office in this great land. But not only was he a brilliant and revered jurist, he was the epitome of humanitarianism.”
Hon. Godfrey Smith, Former Attorney General
“Though he has now passed into the solemn shades of that silent continent, he is destined to be one of the most remembered public figures of our time. Sir George was the quintessential public servant having dedicated his life to the service of the Belizean people for over 40 years. His legal career was full and illustrious. Not withstanding his occupation of the highest judicial office in the land, Sir George was unfailingly polite, unaffected, accessible, humble, public spirited and compassionate. These qualities united in him made him a true gentleman of the law, a good human being, and a proud Belizean patriot.”
The funeral was followed by a large procession to the Lord’s Ridge Cemetery.
