Richard Hoare was killed one week ago and hundreds attended his funeral at St. John's Cathedral in Belize City today. And while it's been a week - police have not made any arrests. But according to our sources, they do have substantial leads. One of those leads almost took wing yesterday. We understand that police detained a woman who was about to board a flight so that she could be questioned about Hoare's death. As we understand it, this woman's phone was found in Hoare's Prado and police believe she has critical information that can assist in the investigation. She was taken in for questioning, still, so far investigators have not gotten enough to produce arrests not yet.
And that's why tonight, the CIB office is asking for your help with providing information that could lead to arrests. Officer Commanding at the Crimes Investigation Branch Superintendent Aaron Guzman told us that he's asking members of the public to come forward with any information they may have.
He stresses that he's asking those who may have seen anything at all last Wednesday night or who may know anything related to the crime, to call the police or the anonymous hotline, 0-800-922-TIPS.
