18-month-old Baby Girl Drowns in Bella Vista Well

Police are also investigating the death of an 18-month-old baby girl in Bella Vista Village. That's in the Stann Creek District and the toddler's mother Florentina Maldonado told police that on Wednesday she left her daughter playing in the yard. But when she went looking for her daughter, she couldn't find her. She searched the yard and that's when she found her daughter floating in a well.

Baby Carla was taken to the Bella Vista Clinic where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are awaiting the outcome of a post mortem examination but say they don't suspect foul play.
