He is already serving a life sentence for murder and this morning in Magistrate's Court 25-year-old Deon Slusher was charged for Thursday's jailhouse murder of death row inmate Gilroy Wade. Wade was shot on Thursday evening, executed with a.38 revolver which was smuggled into the prison along with a homemade silencer.
Wade was on death row for the murder of Azrin (Ozrin) White in 2000. Two weeks prior to his death, Wade was in the supermax area of the prison where according to the prison's CEO Marlon Skeen, he was confined for his own safety.
This morning in court, Deon Slusher told the court that he needed to see a doctor because he had been beaten by police. He was taken to the KHMH. Slusher is serving a life sentence for the murder of Phillip Chin. So what led police to Deon Slusher? Well Slusher was one of the one hundred inmates inside the cell block which Gilroy Wade had passed when he was shot in the back of his left ear.
