An teenager drowned in Orange Walk’s Honey Camp Lagoon on Monday. He is 18-year-old Alfonso Kawich. He went for a leisurely fishing trip with friends in the Honey Camp Area on Monday with two other friends aged 19 and 16. His friends stayed at doubloon lagoon, while he went ahead to Honey Camp Lagoon. They told police that when they didn’t see him return they went unto Honey Camp Lagoon. When they arrived there, they claim they were just in time to see him going down in the water. His body was not recovered until late last night. Police are treating it as a drowning, but his family suspects foul play.
