Police have made three more arrests in connection with the misdeeds of prolific forger Lino Herrera. He himself is facing 20 charges and today police charged three of his alleged accomplices. 26 year old Leslie Serrano was charged in Dangriga with conspiracy to obtain property by deception. Serrano is an employee at the Labor Department. Police have also charged Serrano's younger brother 25 year old Kenton Serrano and his common-law wife with handling stolen goods. Serrano works at the Southern Regional Hospital. One of the laptops bought with the forged checks was allegedly found in their possession. Police haven't explained the connection between the Serrano brothers and Herrera.
Herrera as we reported bought hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment - from computers to expensive boat engines with forged government checks. Police say investigations continue and there will likely be more arrests.
