On Monday we told you about 22 year old Jareth (Jarrett) Crawford – who was shot by police on Saturday and then remanded to prison on Monday pending a court appearance – with the bullet still lodged in his lower abdomen. This morning, that bullet was still there, but it didn’t stop Crawford from facing arraignment for 10 different charges including six counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery one count of aggravated assault upon a police officer, and one count of keeping unlicensed firearm, allegedly a.25 Tibun pistol along with one count of keeping unlicensed ammunition.
In court he pleaded not guilty to all 10 charges, and while he complained of being ill treated by police, Magistrate Dorothy Flowers told him that she could not give him bail because of the nature of the offenses. But Magistrate Flowers did order that he be taken to the KHMH immediately for treatment for his wounds.
Police say that on December 21st, Crawford used a gun to rob six persons in total, making off with close to $7,000 worth of jewelry and valuables.
