A night club security guard is in the hospital recovering tonight after he was shot on the job over the weekend. Around 2:00 on Saturday morning, 43 year old Glenford Logan was working the door at Caesar’s Palace when he got into a fight with four men who he had refused to allow into the club. He claims they threw him to the ground, hit him in the head with a bottle, stole his chain and then shot him in the chest. He was shot in the left side of the chest, underwent emergency surgery and is reportedly in a stable condition. He is now under police guard because police fear that the men who shot him may use their underworld connections to try and get after him.
And that’s the other part of this story. The “who” in this story. Police have charged well known underworld figure 29 year old Darren Ebanks along with associates Austin Rowland, Dillon Bennett, and Steve Zelaya with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm and robbery. They fled the scene, but police caught up with them in high speed chases.
And that’s where the story gets interesting. Police also pursued and detained two police officers, one a corporal and one a constable. They are known associates of Darren Ebanks and were in the area that night – and in fact the constable was found at Darren Ebanks house an hour after the shooting. Those two were detained but not charged because Logan confirmed that they were not part of the foursome that attacked him. Today in court, those four were ordered to be remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
