Police say that on Friday evening 42 year old Wilfred Middleton went crazy on them. They claim he cursed them out, pulled a knife on an officer, and then damaged a police mobile. The bizarre encounter happened at around 7 p.m. Sergeant Nicholas Paloma says they were searching a vehicle on Campus Avenue when they saw Middleton. He looked suspicious to them and police say when they approached him, he started cursing them out.

Sergeant Paloma says he told Middleton to stop and attempted to arrest him. That's when Sergeant Paloma claims that Middleton pulled a knife out a knife and threatened him. Paloma says he fired a warning shot and Middleton dropped the knife. They attempted to search him but that riled him up some more. He ended up shattering the rear windshield of the police's Prado.

He was hauled off to the police station and this morning in court he was charged with aggravated assault, damage to property, using insulting words, resisting lawful arrest, and two counts of assaulting a police officer. He was offered and met bail of $3,000. He reappears in court on February 7th.
