A Police Corporal has been charged for the unlawful carnal knowledge of a teenager in Cayo – but having sex with a minor isn’t the only thing he’s accused of. 33 year old Corporal Joel Grinage was taken to Magistrate’s Court in Cayo today where a string of charges were read against him.
First was carnal knowledge for having sexual relations with his 14-year-old neighbor. The girl told police that it started in September of last year and happened at least one other time. And in September, he also gave her a cell phone. And that’s where the other charges come in. According to the Star Newspaper Grinage is charged with the unlawful handling of stolen property. That’s because the cell phone had allegedly been recovered from a break in and was to be used as evidence – until Giinage got his hands on it and allegedly gave it to the young girl as a gift. And if all that wasn’t bad enough he has also been charged with extortion for offering to free a detained for a consideration of $400.
When Grinage appeared in Cayo Magistrate’s Court today – he was remanded until Monday as police are investigating other charges against him.
