For the second time in 8 months - 34 year old Kevin Hendy has been shot at – and escaped injury. Hendy says that on Monday afternoon he and a friend were riding on separate bicycles when they were approached by three men also riding on bicycles. He says one of the men pulled out a 9 millimeter gun and fired between 10 and 12 shots in their direction. Hendy and his friend ran for cover in nearby mangroves and so the bullets missed their mark.
Hendy recognized his attackers and that led police to 18-year-old Jerome Jason Wade. He hasn’t confessed to police but in a caution statement he told police he was there but wasn’t the shooter. He was charged for attempted murder and remanded to the Hattieville Prison until April 24th. Hendy was similarly shot at in September 29th of 2007 under a bus shed where he was sitting with Curlin “Cluck Cluck” Felix. He ran for cover and wasn’t shot but Felix was fatally wounded.
