Belize City police are no closer to recovering the stolen loot or making an arrest for the robbery of El Capitan Marin Supplies Store. As we reported last night, the secretary was alone that afternoon at the West Landivar business when a red skinned man entered and pretended to be a customer when he asked for a gallon of resin.
She went to get it in the store-room but when she came back out, he had pulled a atocking over his head and was holding a gun in his hand. He grabbed the young woman and then used a roll of tape to tie her to a chair. He then cocked his gun, pointed the weapon at his victim and demanded money. The woman who feared for her life showed the robber a desk that held the cash draw that contained two thousand dollars. He stuffed it into a black garbage bag and then dashed off.
Police have no leads and the storeowners declined to be interviewed. According to one of the managers the armed robbery has left the secretary traumatized and unable to work.
