A twenty nine year old man is dead. He was not killed but police believe Glenn Urbina caused his own death after he acted in a drunken rage and caused injuries which caused him to bleed to death. It all happened on Wednesday at Mike’s Motorplex on Lakeview Street. Story was that Urbina was at the compound drinking heavily and when he was told to leave the office. He got upset and punched through a glass window. The glass cut his right wrist and that quite possibly severed a vein. Urbina was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but died while receiving treatment.
End of story right? Well, not quite, at least not for his mother. A post mortem revealed that he did not bleed to death, instead it was a brain haemorrhage due to a blow to the head that ended his life. Today however when 7NEWS visited the scene we were told by management and staff that after Urbina was told to leave he got upset and took a wrench and smashed the glass window. But the weight of the tool pulled Urbina’s hand down and that caused it to be badly cut by the broken glass.
The witnesses also say that Urbina suffered trauma to his head after he repeatedly banged it against a concrete wall. They say no one is responsible for his death. But his mother is not convinced. Today she told 7NEWS that she is troubled.
Lisa Urbina, Mother of Deceased
“I am suspecting that he was hit in the back of the head and tried getting to the person behind the glass door, broke the glass window to try to

get to the person and that’s where he got that cut. There is something that is not right with what has been stated. I want the police to continue investigating this matter because there is something that is not clear. I am not sure what it is, I have a short time here and I wish before I leave, I can find out something positive to go with.”
Delmar Smith, Employee – Mike’s Motorplex
“One time he hit it here and the other time he hit his forehead on that wall over there.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
And there wasn’t anything you guys could have done to restrain him?
Delmar Smith,
“The problem is that he was a big man. He is big, I am very small. No one could hold back Glen.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
I understand even the boss tried to hold him back?
Delmar Smith,
“Yes ma’am. He tried but no one could hold back Glen. Everyone was afraid of him on that day.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
So from what you saw, you do not believe no one else is responsible for Glen’s death?
Delmar Smith,
“No one is responsible for Glen’s death. Glen chose that way to go and that is the way he went. Even after he hit his head he walked all the way back to the office, walked to the main office in front, and returned. No one forced him to do anything. We just tried to talk to him but he wouldn’t listen. He didn’t punch no glass, he hit the glass with an object. That was how he got cut on his wrist.”
While 7NEWS was at Mike’s Motorplex Tina Urbina showed up. She was taken into the managements’ office where they tried to explain to her what happened. Still, she left visibly upset. Tina Urbina lives in Miami and came to take her son’s body back to the United States where he will be cremated.
