Teenage Grenade Suspect Surrenders

16 year old Akeem Smith – yesterday the police released his name as a person of interest in the investigation into Sunday night’s grenade blast on Mayflower Street. Well, he got the message and this morning accompanied by his mother, he turned himself into the CYDP’s Edward Broaster.

Just after 10:00, Broaster turned him into the CIB Office. According to department head, Superintendent Aaron Guzman, they want to question him about the grenade attack. His brother Kareem Smith, known as Flash, turned himself into police on Tuesday. Both have been casually connected to the unprecedented attack – but, at this time our sources say there is nothing concrete and they are only wanted for questioning.
