As we reported last night, somebody wanted Darrel Grant dead so bad that they shot and ran over him with a car on Sunday night. Well police say that person is Robert Jones. Jones, also known as Black, was today charged for attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm.
Grant told us that on Sunday night at 7:15 he was riding on the Vernon Street Bridge, near the intersection of Lakeview and Vernon Streets, when a Jeep Cherokee knocked him off his bike. A woman was driving but three men jumped out and one of them shot him in the hip.
Grant has a bullet lodged in his hip and is nursing a broken leg and a bullet graze to his right index and middle fingers. He told us that doctors say the bullet in his hip cannot be removed. Police are continuing the search for the other suspects.
