They are all teenaged girls, but police say that didn’t stop three minors from trying to kill a twenty one year old woman. Today the accused who are between the ages of fourteen and sixteen years old were taken over to the Belize Family Court where they were arraigned on the charge of attempted murder.
According to Belize City Police on May twenty ninth tacos vendor Teresita Vivas was stabbed all over her body. Around nine that night, Vivas was walking on Church Street but as she reached the BTL Park she was attacked by three young girls. Vivas says the fourteen year old was armed with a knife which she used to stab her in the neck while the other two girls punched her repeatedly.
Vivas says after she was stabbed and beaten the three females then ran off. It is till not known why Teresita Vivas was attacked but because she was able to identify all three minors the police wasted no time in taking them into custody. In court all three were charged with one count each of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and dangerous harm.
The girls were denied bail and remanded to the Hattieville Prison until June thirtieth. Meanwhile Vivas remains in stable condition in the KHMH.
