And while Mark Ritchie Sr. might reach some level of closure now that his family’s bodies have been recovered, the same can’t be said for Philberto Roches and his family from Hope Creek. As we showed you last night, Roches is on a desperate search for the body of his 3 year old son Jaydon. Jaydon was swept away in the flood waters on Monday morning. His body has not been recovered and today his father and family continued the search with the help of villagers. Jayden’s uncle Albert Roches updated us on search efforts.

Albert Roches (Roaches), Uncle of Missing Boy
“Well we still continue the great search for the young boy and what we going by right now is that we have a dog to try to detect the scent. And also what we are looking at are the flies that detect beings and so on. So right here where we are, we smell it high, we are seeing some of the flies, and we believe that he is probably under here. If he is not here then we going to continue this search. We have to continue this search. Also we have other people searching in the back areas. We have to check and cross check and whatever we have to do, we will do that.

He is a great part of us and we believe that we must go through the right process, we must have a burial. We won’t really stop searching right now. I think we have at least two other days that we intend to search if we don’t come across the body.”

The fifth death was that of Alvin McNab who drowned in Sittee River on Monday morning while attempting to retrieve a dory.
