He says he is a construction worker but police say 24 year old Christobal Aguallo is a thief, or at best, a mover. Today he was charged with theft for allegedly cleaning out Rene Montero’s home on Thomas Vincent Ramos Street in Belama, stealing $30,000 worth of household items -ranging from a laptop and a digital camera to under-arm deodorant and shaving cream.

Montero says that he went to work at the central bank on Tuesday morning. Around 11:45 police responded to reports of a burglary in progress and found Aguallo in the area. He was carrying 2 Ipods, 2 cell phones, and a black knapsack with a Dell Inspiron laptop. While he wasn’t found in the house, police charged him for theft because witnesses saw him leaving the house.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate his accomplice. They did however find 3 knapsacks, a suitcase and a black and white flat screen television on the ground. In the knapsack there were 2 digital cameras and other personal items such as deodorant and office accessories. The stolen items add up to $28,113. Aguallo was arraigned today. The prosecutor objected to bail because Aguallo has a separate case of burglary pending before the court. The magistrate agreed and he was remanded to prison.
