On Monday we showed you the shocking images of a badly beaten and bruised Marvin Chi. The 19 year old says he was attacked by off duty San Pedro policemen on Sunday night as he was leaving the Big Daddy’s Nightclub. Police have conducted an internal investigation and according to their report, it was Marvin Chi who attacked the officers. Inspector Glen Rivero led the investigation and he says that after seeing the policemen with his girlfriend in the club, Chi launched his attack.

“Mr. Chi became upset over seeing his common-law wife along with the two police officers and in so seeing he decided to attack the police officers. The officers who are very young cops did not really initiate or start the fight.
It was Mr. Chi and my investigation reveals that a fellow intervened and tried to stop Mr. Chi from fighting with the officers. In turn he turned on that fellow and the fellow had to then defend himself.
It was Mr. Chi from our investigation who initiated the fight and his injuries, some of his injuries were as a result of some of the guys who intervened. I have recorded a statement from one of his own family members who made it clear that he saw one of the guys who came in from off the streets who was a bystander and inflicted the wound to Mr. Chi’s head. So to clarify the whole picture that was painted that these two officers might have been rogue cops wanted to start a fight and suddenly jumped on the guy, we had to clarify that.”
Marvin Chi is still hospitalized at the KHMH. His family reports that he has lost a considerable piece of his left ear lobe.
