There is good news to report tonight from the deep south where both the Temash and Moho Rivers are reported to be receding. This picture was taken on the approach to the Moho River Bridge today. It was impassable yesterday with above four feet of water. The other picture is in Crique Sarco an area that was completely flooded yesterday.
Greg Ch’oc of SATIIM tells us that Crique Sarco is once again accessible by road and portions of the village are no longer underwater. Still, there was damage to crops and the dirt floors in those inundated have been reduced to a muddy mess.
And while that is the Temash River, the Moho has also receded significantly and the communities of Barranco, Midway, Conejo and Sundaywood are believed to be accessible by road again, but they are so remote that neither Ch’oc nor NEMO could confirm that.
