Last night before 8, gunmen descended on Esso New Road Gas Station demanding money and valuables. It was captured on security camera and Jacqueline Godwin has a play by play of one minute of terror.
Jacqueline Godwin Reporting,
Today the staff and management of the Esso Gas Station at 135 New Road continued to work as normal but their minds were every much preoccupied on the frightening events what unfolded on their compound last night. Security cameras captured the armed robbery.
Around seventy forty five twenty four year old gas attendant Manuel Sabillion was on duty at his pump station when the masked gunman holding a handgun rushed him. That is when the other suspect unmasked and wearing a brown cap entered the picture. Shortly after he is seen approaching the female gas attendant who remains seated just outside the main building.
In one shot Sabillion is seen struggling with the masked robber who by that time had already handed over the day’s sale, a total of five hundred and fifty five dollars. One customer was inside the main building along with the

supervisor thirty seven year old Rene Perdomo who was seated behind the counter.
Their attention however was drawn to the commotion outside but there was little

time to react as the first gunman entered the building, pushed the customer in his back and then held on to Perdomo’s hand and snatched the gold ring he was wearing. That is when the second suspect entered and quickly reached for the cash register. He got off with a total of $150.
As the robbery was in progress a police mobile patrol passed by. That is when a concerned resident was seen rushing to the vehicle to get their attention. The police set chase but the robbers had a 10 second lead and managed to get away. The armed hold up and robbery took only one minutes but the suspects managed to get away with over seven hundred dollars in cash, a gold ring and a cell phone.
Police have been viewing the security tape and hopefully it will lead them to the culprits. Jacqueline Godwin for 7NEWS.
So far, police have no one detained.
