Police today caught a robber slipping out of a Chinese store he had just jacked. At 9:00 this morning, Leroy Chaplin went into a store on Meighan Avenue armed with a.25 pistol and robbed Zhu Li Ming of $172 in cash and some phone cards. But before, Chaplin could get away, the storeowner started wrestling with him. That gave police who were in the area just enough time to pull up. They found him with the cash and phone cards.
He will be charged for robbery, aggravated assault and possession of firearm and ammunition without a license.
