And in bad news from another cable company, police have not charged anyone for yesterday’s holdup at Baymen Cable. More details of that armed robbery are known tonight and they are chilling.
At about 10:30 a.m. two men entered the office pretending to be selling newspapers. But that changed quickly when one of them clubbed the security guard with a 9 milimeter pistol and told the cashiers to hand over the money. They got almost $1,100 but that wasn’t enough. They then robbed all the office staff of their belongings and cash and took the security guard’s gun. Still not satisfied, the robbers than forced all of them into a back room and demanded that the manager, a female open the safe. She didn’t have the combination and when she called her boss and asked for it, which was a very strange request, that was his tip off to call the police.
Satisfied that they couldn’t get into the safe, the men ran off but not before also robbing a customer who had entered the office to pay his bill. A lawless spree, and police are investigating.
