He was supposed to return to Belmopan today after spending the Costa Maya weekend in San Pedro – but 21 year old Vidal Escalante will go home in a body bag. He was killed this morning in San Pedro when he drove his golf cart into the rear of a dump truck. The fatal collision occurred around 6:30 when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the rear wheel of a dump truck. He was rushed to the Ambergris Hopes Clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The dump truck’s driver is 32 year old Edmir Dominguez and he has not been charged.
