Home invasions are definitely on the increase and yesterday morning, a home on the outskirts of the city was victim to another. 29 year old Yesenia Rojas, the owner of Belize Foam Factory at mile 2 mile on the Western Highway, reported that at 10:30am, she was at her home – which is in the same compound - when she heard her daughter screaming.
She was about to call police when she felt something like a gun lodged on her lower back and a voice telling her to hand over her phone and other items. Rojas then turned around and saw a dark skinned man in front of her. She tried to run, but he pushed her to the floor. Fearing for her life she then handed over her purse containing $300. The man then picked 3 cellular phones and ran off. Police have not identified any suspects.
