They may have won the war of the water taxis recently, but the Caye Caulker Water Taxi Association lost big when two of its employees allegedly embezzled big money from them. Hector Alpuche, the General Manager for the Association told police that between Christmas Eve of last year and August fourth of this year Oleido Quiroz and Valeria Lambey a pair of administrative assistants were instructed to deposit money, but they never did. Quiroz was supposed to have deposited over twenty five thousand dollars and Valerie Lambey should have done the same with over nineteen thousand dollars.
Police are investigating the complaint.
