He struck his own granduncle with a length of stick on October 21 causing the 75-year-old to experience temporary amnesia, but tonight, 22-year-old allege mental patient, Albert Conorquie is a free man, released from the charges of attempted murder and grievous harm.
His freedom came early this morning after his relative, identified as his grand uncle, 75-year-old Gilbert Lodge, a Belizean farmer of Scotland Halfmoon gave police a statement in which he requested no further court action on the matter. This morning he and his grand uncle, who is his mother’s brother, left the court room together.
When police had visited lodge at the Accident and Emergency Room at the KHMH after the incident, he told them that he could not remember what happened to him. When Conorquie appeared before Magistrate Tracy Sosa in October, she ordered a psychiatric evaluation because he appeared as if he didn’t understand what she said.
