Three people were injured during a shooting spree last night in Cayo. The first shots hit 50 year old David Young in his left upper back. He says he was driving as his Ford Explorer in Santa Elena on Carmen Street enroute to Carrillo Puerto Avenue when someone opened fire. One bullet hit the left side of the gipsy window and another went through the back of the driver’s seat, hitting Young in the back.
Ten minutes later on the same street there were more gunshot and another injured. The victim was Christine Dawson who was shot in her back. She says she along with a friend were walking on Carmen Street when a man they identified as Jorge Galindo rode up to them on a motorcycle. That was one second and the next there were gunshots. Christine was hit in the left side of the back and stomach. She was taken to the San Ignacio Town Hospital and then to the KHMH. 23 year old Jorge Galindo was hit in the buttocks.
Police are investigating.
