On April 30th of this year former Prime Ministerial Press Secretary Nuri Muhammad was allegedly busted with what amounted to a stick of weed. But more than that, police accused Muhammad of driving under the influence and charged him for refusing to provide a specimen sample. They also charged that his vehicle was unlicensed.
Muhammad had his day court today and he walked out a free man after the police's case collapsed. The first charge dropped was the drug possession. He was allegedly caught with 28.5 grams of weed in a black plastic bag. The arresting officer claims that while transporting Muhammad to the station, Muhammad threw an object out of the vehicle. He was taken to the area and police retrieved another bag of weed. But the police couldn't prove that bag of weed belonged to Muhammad and so Magistrate Sharon Frazer struck out the charge.
The charge of failure to provide a specimen was also withdrawn after Muhammad told the Magistrate the police never asked him to provide a urine sample. He says he refused to give a blood sample at the hospital because of a medical condition.
Muhammad did plead guilty to driving an unlicensed motor vehicle and he was fined $100 which has to pay December 31st.
