On Monday night 38 year old Marion Henkis was shot in front of her house on regent street west. Tonight police say they have their shooter. He has been identified as 22 year old Osman Mitchell and today he was arraigned on charges of attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and wounding for allegedly shooting Henkis. He was charged with a fourth count of aggravated assault upon Kareem Grant. No plea was taken and Mitchell was remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
Henkis was heading to store around 6 pm when she says she saw two young men on bicycles riding from the direction of West Canal towards Thurton Alley. One of the men had a gun which he aimed at her and opened fire. One of those shots

hit Henkis in the lower arm and she then fell. Police arrived later and took her to the KHMH where she was treated and released.
It is believed Kareem Grant was the target. In fact Henkis says she was leaving her yard to go to the store when grant ran into her. The gunman then opened fire. Henkis says she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Osman Mitchell is awaiting trial on an attempted murder charge for allegedly shooting John Chessman Jr. on April 11th of 2008 as he stood at the corner of Sarstoon and Mahogany Streets. Chessman was hit in the left shoulder and back.
And in another arrest, Marlon Foreman, has been charged for the murder of Barney Cunningham. He will also be charged for shooting four men who were with Cunningham on Friday night as they sat in a car on Curl Thompson Street.
