In November, Darren Banks’s family complained to us that he had gone crazy in prison and yet still he was being refused bail. Well, that bail has now been granted. This evening, after almost 3 months on remand for an attempted murder, Banks, was granted bail of $8,000 plus two sureties each of $4,000.
The bail came as the result of a psychiatric evaluation which concluded that Banks had a nervous break down while in lock down at the prison. It also stated that Banks who is still not fully recovered, needs to take his medication and is no danger to himself or society.
When he appeared at court in November, he told the Magistrate he was seeing snakes in the courtroom.
