A small house was destroyed by fire yesterday evening on Ebony Street. It belonged to 58 year old Ralph Arnold who wasn’t home at the time. Station supervisor at the National Fire Service Kenneth Mortis says they received the call at 5:33.

Kenneth Mortis, Fire Station Supervisor
“On arrival we found what seemed to have been a collapsed bungalow structure. The structure is wooden with zinc roofing, approximately 20 by 15. The owner of the house Ralph Arnold was not at home, he was out at his place of work where he does craving. Our team got into operation of extinguishing this fire and we did observe that no one was home at the time as I previously

stated and the house apparently stood off the ground but it had collapsed some time prior to the fire.”

Keith Swift,
Any idea of the cause?

Kenneth Mortis,
“Presently the team is out investigating the cause today and we should have a feedback shortly as to exactly what caused the fire.”

Keith Swift,
Any reason to be suspicious since you said no one was at home when the fire started?

Kenneth Mortis,
“We don’t have any reasons for suspicion. It is a very tickly situation. Most of the time we come upon these fire instances where no one is at home and the house has no electricity and so forth and this is one of those cases. So we are taking this one in a more timely fashion so we can determine the exact cause of such fire.”

Neither the house or its contents were insured.
