Although the body was discovered from around ten on Tuesday morning, Dangriga Police are no closer to identifying the remains of a female found by a couple of fishermen in the Glover’s Reef area. Reports are that the body was found washed up on shore about thirteen miles north east of Glover’s Reef. The remains appeared to be that of a Hispanic woman.
The body which was in an advanced state of decomposition was lying on the left side with a red and white cloth tied around the neck and arm pit. Reports to 7News also suggest that there were also signs of injuries around the neck. Police suspect foul play. Because the body was badly decomposed police could not remove the remains and we understand that a post mortem was scheduled to be conducted today at the site but up to news time 7News understands that the procedure had not yet been performed – meaning the body will spend another night out there.
Again Dangriga Police have no leads as to the identity of the woman. If you have any information that can assist in the investigation contact the nearest police station.
