Dionne Crawford, Flood Victim
“I feel very good that they came through for me and gave me this house.”
Fortunato Noble,
“Before that where did you used to live?
Dionne Crawford,
“I used to live over the side there in the downstairs house.”
Fortunato Noble,
“What type of condition was that?”
Dionne Crawford,
“Very poor conditions.”
Fortunato Noble,
“This is putting a band aid on a big wound. You have more on the riverside and on the lagoon side who are still low lying. If a big flood comes they get flooded again.”
Calbert Budd,
“If somebody is building alongside a lagoon or along side a river, if they are going to build there they have to build to reach a certain specification or they won’t be able to build there.”
Other homes have also been built in the river valley area for flood victims.
