Last night we told you about the pharmacist who flipped the script on a would be armed robber. That would be robber is allegedly David White. He is the man who police have listed as wanted for entering waver pharmacy yesterday at 10:50 am and asking for medicine for a tooth ache. Pharmacist Wayne Vernon turned around to get the medication and that’s when the man pulled out a gun.
Well in a split second – Vernon grabbed his licensed 9 milimeter gun and pointed it at the robber who scampered out of the store – dropping his gun and his bike. Turns out the gun wasn’t loaded – in fact, the nine milimeter pistol didn’t have a clip! Tonight police are searching for David White.
And while the robbery at Waver Pharmacy was foiled, 40 minutes later at the St. Catherine’s Dental Clinic on Princess Margaret Drive – a robber was able to steal just under two thousand dollars in cash and valuables from a helpless employee. 44 year old Rita Douglas says a gunman entered at 11:30 and demanded money. She quickly gave him $350 in cash and her purse which had in $1,390 in cash, a money order for US$25, a cell phone, and some bank books. The gunman then fled. Police are investigating.
