Ryan Walker was gunned down two Thursdays ago inside his car in the Lake Independence area. Police have made no arrests but tonight they have a 55 year old mother and grandmother detained. Yesterday at 9 am, police picked up 55 year old Sandra Uter from the spot where she sells food on Vernon Street. Up to when we checked just prior to news time – Uter was still detained. It is a legal detention since 48 hours hasn’t passed but it has outraged her daughter Kendra Coleman that of all people – her mother would be detained for a murder she knows nothing about.

“She didn’t even get any food. Nobody came and give us a warning that my mom is detained downstairs in the piss house, locked up and so I really don’t know what is going on Keith.”

Have you tried to find out why they have her detained?
Kendra Coleman,
“Well as I went in there and I asked what they have my mom for, they said murder. Murder? They said she is detained for murder and that she knows about some murder that happened on Central American Boulevard. I want to know if you guys, you the media, know about anything, any murder that happens on Central American Boulevard.
I want to see justice and make them know not because she noh flirt with unu means you would lock up she fi nothing. For no reason at all, my mom doesn’t even go nowhere. She doesn’t go nowhere, she just stay home until she decided to open the business.”
Again up to news time, Sandra Uter was still detained. Assistant Superintendent of Police Julio Valdez says Uter is detained pending investigation but it is not for murder.
