Yesterday evening at 5:30 police found this gun in an abandoned lot on Neal’s Pen Road. It is a bolt action 16 gauge shotgun. It was wrapped in a black plastic bag and no one was seen in the area. Who leaves all these guns in abandoned lots? Well, many times those abandoned lots are used as stash areas because the homes of their owners are often and randomly searched. In those cases, police would get the call from community members who see something suspicious. A police release suggests that’s what happened in this case.

A similar find was made in Corozal yesterday morning. Police were on a pre-dawn anti-drug operation in the White Cocal area when they found a plastic bag with a pound of marijuana. They searched that same area until the afternoon and at 12:30 they found a.38 pistol and then again at 2:00, they found a lorin brand 22 caliber pistol in a canal. No arrests were made.
