A warehouse supervisor and two delivery men all former employees of Madisco Marketing Distributing Company Limited have been charged with one count each of theft after the trio stole twenty three thousand, one hundred dollars in cigarettes from their employer. It was the consummate inside job, so there were no signs of the break in that occurred sometime on Thursday May fourteenth.

But court reports reveal that after the twenty four year old warehouse supervisor Emiliano Ack was caught on a surveillance camera he was questioned by the company’s operational manager John Nicholson. According to the police account laid out in court today, Ack confessed to the crime and then identified his accomplices as twenty five year old Solemni Chun a driver of the company and the delivery sideman twenty year old Earl Gill.

Today all three appeared in Belize City Magistrate’s Court and pleaded not guilty even though court reports say that Emiliano Ack told his manager that they stole the cigarettes to sell it to a Dangriga Chinese businessman who paid him a total of sixteen thousand dollars. The stolen cigarettes include four cases of large Independence valued at seven thousand, seven hundred dollars, two cases of small Independence valued at three thousand, eight hundred and fifty dollars and two cases of small Colonial. Of the sixteen thousand dollars allegedly paid to Emiliano Ack he reportedly kept six thousand dollars while Solemni Chun and Earl Gill got five thousand dollars each. But after being caught Ack reportedly returned to Madisco three thousand, nine hundred dollares, Chun handed in three thousand six hundred dollars and Gill gave back two thousand five hundred dollars.

After appearing in court Ack, Chun and Gill were offered bail of four thousand dollars each or two sureties each of two thousand dollars each. The former Madisco employees met bail and were released. They are scheduled to reappear in Magistrate’s Court on July sixth. In total, they are accused of stealing 12 cases of large and small Independence and Colonial cigarettes.
