It has only been one week since twenty two year old Darrington Lauriano was freed from the 2004 killing of Kareem “Butchie” Broaster and the wounding of Orlando Wade. You would have thought that after beating the murder rap, Lauriano would not be in the news anytime soon but it looks like he troubles trouble. Tonight he is back in police lock down facing not one but two counts of separate robberies that authorities say Darrington Lauriano committed within a space of two hours each on Tuesday night.

The first armed hold-up occurred around ten last night on Fairweather Street. It was there that three friends Christopher Carter, Misael Cowo and Delvan Palacio were standing when the trio were approached by a brown complexion man who walked up to them, took out a chrome firearm and pointed the weapon at them. Delvan Palacio handed over his jewellery and the gunman ran off.

But instead of going into hiding police believe Darrington Lauriano then moved further up Fairweather Street towards the residence of twenty nine year old Pamela Gabourel. The young woman was standing by her gate with a friend when the duo was approached by a fair complexioned man wearing a black warm cap over his head. As the man rode up, he pulled out a gun and pointed it at the woman and her friend. Pamela Gabourel handed the robber her cell phone. The man then rode off.

Police did not connect the hold-ups until two hours later at midnight when they captured Darrington Lauriano. Belize City police not only found their suspect on George Street but when they conducted a search on him they discovered Pamela Gabourel’s cell phone and Delvan Palacio’s wrist watch. On Friday twenty two year old Darrington Lauriano is expected to be charged and taken to Magistrate’s Court on two counts of aggravated robbery.

One week ago Darrington Lauriano was freed from the 2004 murder of Kareem “Butchie” Broaster and he pled guilty for the wounding of Orlando Wade. He was fined five hundred dollars which spared him five months jail time.
