Human bones were found in the village of Roaring Creek yesterday and murder may have been the case. The bones have not been identified but the Hyde family from Roaring Creek Village believes that the bones are those of Rudolph Hyde Jt. who has been missing since May 25th. 7News travelled west to investigate.
Keith Swift Reporting,
The human bones were found scattered in this overgrown field in the “Another World” area of Roaring Creek. They were near to this patch in the field that been recently burnt. The bones were in the same area as these animal bones but Ricky Tzul who made the discovery says the bones police took were distinctly human.
Ricky Tzul, Brother in Law of Missing Man
“When I looked at it, it was really a hand. A little bit more down we walked and we found his spinal cord and ribs bone. We searched the area and didn’t came up with nothing else.”
Rudolph Hyde Sr., Father of Missing Man
“That was all the bones we recovered and the area was burnt and it had some other bones like animal bones and stuff right in the same vicinity so we called the police and they came out.”
Ricky Tzul,
“The bone at the top here coming down was white. It had on his plate at the back where the hand is joined here and inside of it has a little bit of ligaments in between his fingers that still signs of decomposition. It was there like a month the most, the hand was still flexible. When the lifted it up, it didn’t fell apart, it just swung down. It still had ligaments holding the bones together.”
Ricky Tzul was in the area searching for his 25 year old brother in law Rudolph

Hyde Jr. who went missing on May 25th. The family suspects the bones found are of Rudy Jr.
Rudolph Hyde Sr.,
“He is the only person who went missing as of late in that area and the state in which we found the remains and the bones in would suggest that it is something that happened about three to four weeks ago so we kind of suspect more or less.”
Keith Swift,
Who would have wanted to kill Rudolph and why?
Rudolph Hyde Sr.,
“Well you know I don’t got nobody because he is a cool guy. He mostly stay on the ranch and he lately came out here. But thee guys he hanged with, the two guys I mentioned, they are shady characters and especially the guy Blue, I think he got deported from the States for criminal things he did over there beside that, we don’t know of nobody would have to hurt him.”
Police aren’t sure if the remains are even human. Second in command of Belmopan Police Inspector David Chi says they first have to verify if the remains are human – and then determine whose it is.
Insp. David Chi, Belmopan Police
“They are suspected to be human bones, we cannot confirm as yet until the testing has been done to say they are human bones. They are suspected to be.”
Keith Swift,
And it wasn’t a complete body found?
Insp. David Chi,
“No it is not a complete body, no skull was found.”
Keith Swift,
The Hyde family believes this might be Rudolph Hyde. Any reason to believe this might be him?
Insp. David Chi,
“We have no clue as to who, if it is human bones or remains, who it is. We are not speculating as to whether it is this person or that person. We have a number of persons who have been reported missing so we cannot say who this might be. So we will not speculate and say it is one person or the other.”
Keith Swift,
Why do you believe it is human bones?
Ricky Tzul,
“The hand, I saw the hand definitely and the spinal cord and ribs. That I can say it is human definitely because there were other bones from animals like cow and horse around here in this spot that is burnt but I can identify a hand and a spinal cord and ribs from human beings. It is very simple to identify because animal bones are much larger than a human beings.”
Rudolph Hyde believes that if the bones aren’t those of his son – the renewed attention will lead him to his son.
Rudolph Hyde Sr.,
“So far the police have been slow and we are hoping with this little development, they will really intensify their investigation and really make us see what really happened. Right now we are still hopeful. We are hoping that somebody might come up and we are ask the public if they see or if anybody knows anything suspicious happening about a month ago, to call the police or get in touch with me at Hyde’s Mini Mart.”
Keith Swift,
How have the last 5 weeks been like for the family?
Rudolph Hyde Sr.,
“It is rough. Trust me, just a couple hours sleep at night and we coordinate the search groups and we are all over the country trying to pick up the pieces by ourselves because the police, I don’t want to bash anybody and we are hoping that now, that they will really start to investigate and go out and question people and see if we can get to the bottom of this thing and lay this whole thing to rest.
I want to get the remains and lay him to rest and thing. I would want a closure but at the same time I am hoping for the better. I would want a closure really.”
Police pathologist Dr. Mario Estradabran should determine by Wednesday if the bones are human. If they are – then a sample will be sent for DNA testing to see if it will match the DNA of Rudolph Hyde Sr. If you do know the whereabouts of or you know what happened to Rudolph Hyde Jr. you can contact the Hyde family at 822-3252.
