Yesterday when Belmopan Police visited Camalote Village on the Western Highway, they say a Shaw bus parked on the right side of the road with extensive damages. The driver of the bus, Nicholas Flores told police that he was heading to Cayo when he saw a black motorcycle being towed by a pick up truck, driven by Lorenzo Pop that was coming in the opposite direction. The cyclist, Frank Allen Cabanas, suddenly lost his balance, fell of the motorcycle, and was run over by the bus. He was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital where he died. Tour Guide Acquitted of Child Stealing
23 year old tour guide from Punta Gorda, Basilio Bolon, was acquitted of 2 counts of child stealing, 2 counts of aggravated assault, and 1 count of threat of death in court today. It was alleged that Bolon stole a 10 year old girl on two occasions, January 26th and January 30th of 2006, from All Saint’s Primary School and rode her on his bike, taking her to his home on Tigris Street.
On the first occasion, Bolon allegedly showed the little girl his private parts, and in return, asked the little girl to show him hers. On the second occasion, he allegedly shook his private parts at the child, and threatened to kill her with a gun he showed her.
Justice Adolph Lucas told the jury to find Bolon not guilty after Bolon’s lawyer, Michael Peyrefitte, was able to prove that the accused was not fairly identified, and that there is no proof to support much of the prosecution’s case.
