Belmopan Police will tomorrow charge three young men for setting up and executing last week’s savage murder of 82 year old Belmopan taxi driver James “Jimmy” Young. The murder suspect is 25 year old Mathew Gentle from Esperanza Village. He will be charged with murder while his cousin 25 year old Leon Gentle will be charged with a rarely heard of count of “failure to prevent a felony.” The third man is 19 year old Transito Ricardo Tzul from Roaring Creek who will face charges of robbery and kidnapping.

Police believe Ricky Tzul, as he is known, kidnapped Mr. Jimmy and handed him over to Mathew Gentle who then killed the 82 year old. He was last seen alive on Tuesday and his body was found on Friday evening. The motive it appears was robbery and the target was the Geo Prizm that Mr. Jimmy drove. Sources tell us that they wanted to take the car over to Melchor and trade it for guns. But it seems the criminal trade-off never worked out and they came back, leaving the car in Melchor.

The three suspects will appear in court tomorrow morning.
