A 76 year old woman from Biscayne village is in police custody pending arraignment after an AR-15 Assault rifle was found in the attic of her home when it was searched this morning.
But it may not be her fault; she may have simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her 29 year grandson Jamil Flowers was at home and she had reportedly just returned form abroad.
But the law is the law and both were taken in custody. But late checks at court showed that they had not been taken for arraignment. Their attorney Dickie Bradley told us that he is trying to work out some sort of arrangement with the Police Senior Command to allow her to not be charged – since she was clearly not responsible.
And since a decision on that is pending, the arraignment in court was apparently delayed. It’s left to be seen if she will be charged. We’ll have an update on Monday.
