They were detained on Thursday and today 20 year old Winfield Dennison and 21 year old Warren Dominguez appeared before Senior Magistrate Dorothy Flowers.
The duo is charged for the august eight attempted murder of an eighteen year old high school student. Around eight fifteen that night the victim told police that he was buying food from a vendor at the corner of Vernon And Sibun Streets when a pair of gunmen who were eighty to ninety feet away started firing shots at him. The student was struck in the left side of his buttocks.
Inside the courtroom, Senior Magistrate Flowers explained to the accused that they could not be offered bail because of the nature of the offenses which include dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm.
Winfield Dennison and Warren Dominguez were then remanded to the Belize Central Prison in Hattieville where they will remain until their next court appearance on September seventeenth.
Later next month Winfield Dennison is scheduled to appear again in magistrate’s court for additional charges of keeping an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Those charges arose last year in after he was accused of shooting a fourteen year old.
