And while Cultivation on that scale usually takes place in the country today police found a secret garden of marijuana plants in the heart of the city. A police team searched the residence of 41 year old Andrew Murillo at 71 Plues Street early this morning and found 5 marijuana plants measuring four to ten feet.
The plants were confiscated and he was arrested and charged for unlawfully cultivating cannabis. When he appeared in Magistrate’s Court, he pleaded guilty to the charge but explained that he did not know how the plants got into the yard and he was not the owner of the property. Because of his explanation, Magistrate Tracy Sosa entered a plea of not guilty and offered him bail of five thousand dollars. Still, he was unable to meet bail and was taken to prison. He will re-appear on September 29th.
