Last night we told you about the Thursday morning home invasion at Sandra Thompson’s house on Kelly Street. It was a terrifying incident that has Thompson still terrified – unable to sleep or go to work. And tonight she is also outraged because she says she knows who did it and more than that, she told Keith Swift that the vicious attack could have been prevented had the justice system listened to her pleas for help.

Keith Swift Reporting,
Sandra Thompson says she was startled out of her sleep at one on Thursday morning.

Sandra Thompson, Home Invasion Victim
“I just heard the door slam ‘bang’ open. I woke up and I saw four young men running in but the house was dark so I didn’t really see but I saw like the face of one of them who had on a fisherman hat. And I run into my bathroom and lock up in the bathroom and when I lock up into the bathroom they stamped it down and then they pulled me out by my throat and one of them covered my mouth and told me to shut up. They started to pop off all my jewellery, cause I wear some big chain, and they started to pop my jewellery, took off all the rings from my hand, and pop out my earrings.”

Sandra says she stooped in this corner and pleaded for her life. There is blood on the carpet because she says they then stabbed her.

Sandra Thompson,
“They stabbed me and then they put me in that corner where all the blood is on the carpet and I just relaxed right there and gave them everything I had on for that moment.”

It was a horrifying ordeal for the 23 year old which is made more horrible by the fact that she claims her ex-boyfriend was behind it and that despite numerous incidents of harassment - the Family Court has refused to grant her a restraining order.

Sandra Thompson,
“She nuh want to give me no restraining order for the young man and as she denied me the restraining order, he meets me everywhere on the street and harasses me; whapped me in my chest with my gun, pulled off my chains because he said he bought them. From I’ve lived here, one year and change, nobody yet come into my house to come rob me. So I already know that he sent them after me.

If the lady had given me we the restraining order maybe he would have kept away from me but number 4 court doesn’t want to give me no restraining order against him. I don’t know why. I know that he sent people into my house to harass me. I would just want him to stop because I di back acid and a big knife.

If I meet any of them again who think they will chance me, I have to do my own work because I report three four times and police haven’t picked him up. Police haven’t done anything so I have to retaliate by myself if they come back around me. Only that is left for me to do.”

Sandra Thompson has been a victim of a near death attack before. In May of 2004 she was shot while inside her home on Amara Avenue. The target then was her then boyfriend. She says Wednesday night’s attack was on another level.

Sandra Thompson,
“I mi live with a young man Arlen Robinson on Amara Avenue when I got shot, long time, and that is the only incident which happened to me and they didn’t even know that I was in the house. So that happened just like that but this is the first time that every happened and everyone around here knows me. Nobody around here would ever do that to me and come into my house. I know he set them up.”

Keith Swift,
“What did he send them to do, just beat you up, kill you, what?”

Sandra Thompson,
“I think he sent them because he wants the gold off of me but he met me with those. He would just want to see me down and I don’t know why but I just, I don’t know….”

Keith Swift,
“So you said you made police reports?”

Sandra Thompson,
“I made police reports. I told you the two times he threatened me with a gun, I told them he whapped me in my chest last week Sunday. Sunday that happened and now Wednesday this happened. They haven’t picked him up from then so what am I supposed to do? They can’t find him but how he can find me all the time. I just want them to know to left me lone because I plan to kill one of them if they don’t leave me alone. I will do it myself….any of them.”

Police have made no arrests. In fact the department has still not issued a press release on the incident. No one was ever charged for the May 2004 incident on Amara Avenue.
