And while convicted rapist Barry Robinson has had luck with the parole board three prisoners who feel they have been unlucky with the board are 29 year old Terry Bainton, 22 year old Jose Melgar, and 29 year old Jose Cocom. Today at their arraignment in court for escape - all three said the reason why they escaped was because they were frustrated with their rejection by the parole board.
The three men broke loose on Sunday night and were recaptured on Monday morning at 9 am on the Western Highway. Today in court they were each sentenced to one year in prison. Magistrate Kathleen Lewis was feeling rather generous and ordered that the prison sentence be served concurrent to their current sentences. That means they won’t spend extra time.
Terry Bainton is in jail for a burglary conviction, Jose Cocom is serving an eleven year sentence for maim and Jose Melgar is in jail for aggravated burglary and uttering a false document.
