43 year old Cecil Gabourel fatally stabbed his wife Carol Gabourel during an argument on Christmas Day in 2006. He was charged with murder but today he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

The killing occurred at the couple’s home on Neal’s Penn Road and it all started when Cecil came home reeking of liquor. Carol told him not to touch the ham and she left – according to him it was in another man’s car. So Cecil went downstairs and threatened to kill one of them when they returned. She told him to back down and that’s when he took out a knife and stabbed Carol Gabourel in the upper chest.

She was pronounced dead on arrival at the KHMH. Cecil Gabourel went to the Racoon Street police station and told the police officers he had just stabbed his wife. Cecil Gabourel will be sentenced by Justice Adolph Lucas on Friday.

It’s notable that this is the second time that Cecil Gabourel has pleaded guilty to the crime. He did so in January of this year but changed his plea at sentencing.
