21 year old Dillon Diamond will spend six months in jail for breaking a window and in addition - he’ll have to pay the $600 to fix it. Diamond was convicted of damage to property today in Magistrate’s Court.
Alissa Olivera reported to police that on May 2nd of this year – she saw Diamond throw a stone which broke the window of the room she was in. Diamond allegedly had a misunderstanding with Olivera’s mother in law prior to the incident.
Diamond remained silent at the trial and Magistrate Kathleen Lewis found him guilty. He was sentenced to 6 months in jail and ordered to pay Olivera $600 for the window by March 30th 2010. If he defaults – he will spend an additional six weeks in jail. He will serve the six months for damage to property after another six month sentence he is currently serving for a conviction of wounding. Diamond was also on remand on a charge of keeping an unlicensed firearm.
