Luis McKoy Pleads Guilty to Drug Trafficking

34 year old Luis McKoy was busted with more than a pound of weed this morning. His run-in with the law began at 9:15 when police responded to the corner of Vernon Street and Central American Boulevard where they saw McKoy who was on a motorcycle being pursued by an officer on a cycle.

McKoy ran the stoplight and crashed into a four door car. In the impact he flung a bag loaded with marijuana in the air. He jumped off the cycle and ran. He didn’t get far and was caught on Mayflower Street. Police say that in the black knapsack they found 456 grams of marijuana. He was charged with drug trafficking and pleaded guilty in court. Magistrate Aretha Ford fined him $10,000 which he has pay by March 1st 2010 or serve a three year prison sentence.
